(1) 转换开关SA1（或SA2）的旋转按钮置于Ⅰ（开），三相电源与电动机接通，砂轮电机起动运转，置于位置Ⅱ（关），砂轮电机停。因组合开关没有短路保护功能，所以电路中接入熔断器的闸刀开关或铁壳开关，也可以是断路器，用它来隔离电源，并起到短路保护作用。
(2) 由于砂轮与电机轴的连接是用螺帽固定的，所以砂轮罩壳上用箭头指示了砂轮的旋转方向，如果反向旋转，有可能因旋转惯性使螺帽松开而造成高速旋转的砂轮飞出的重大事故。在接砂轮电机的电源时，切记先试它的转向是否与箭头方向一致。
